Interested in learning what the research says about adult student
persistence? What the research can tell us about increasing
student participation in adult education programs is particularly
relevant as programs and teachers strive to increase student
persistence long enough for students to reap substantial learning
gains. Learning Works is sponsoring 3 different study circles
to engage adult educators in discussing and applying concepts
related to adult student persistence. Each study circle will
be led by a facilitator and include reading assignments, and your
active engagement is essential.
|
Participants will:
- Discuss the
research on adult student persistence and what it means for
practitioners and programs
- Consider how
you might apply the research in your own classroom or program
- Make a plan
for trying a new research-based strategy for increasing
persistence.
